SUMMARY:Powerful Practice: Leveling Up Your Collaboration with Colleges to Boost Postsecondary Enrollment Success
DESCRIPTION:Powerful Practice: Leveling Up Your Collaboration with Colleges to Boost Postsecondary Enrollment Success \nA Pilot Project with North State Together and Reach Higher Shasta’s Counseling Initiative\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCost: Free \nWhen:\nTuesday\, June 14\, 2022\n11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. PDT\nRegister Today!\nPresented by: \n·        Tara Schwerdt – School Counseling Coordinator\, Shasta County Office of Education \n·        Jamie Spielmann – Director of Planning & Development\, North State Together \n·        Heather Van Slyke – School Counselor\, Shasta High School \nDescription: \nMany of our seniors sincerely plan to enroll in college but don’t actually arrive on campus in the fall. One contributing factor is the sheer number of admission\, enrollment\, and orientation-related tasks they must complete during the spring and summer of their senior year. Join us to explore how one county’s school counselors banded together with their local colleges to share these tasks in an effort to develop an added safety net for seniors. Through a “data-sharing MOU\,” colleges were able to share the status of each student’s completion of these tasks with their high school counselors\, who were then able to follow up. The county has seen great enrollment rate success as a result. Join us to learn more and walk away with strategies YOU can implement too! \nWebinar objectives: \nBy the end of this webinar\, participants will be able to… \n·        Leverage one evidence-based approach that results in huge payoffs in college enrollment rates \n·        Investigate how one county’s data-sharing strategy with local colleges supported seniors in successfully completing key enrollment tasks \n·        Customize your own data sharing MOUs and prepare a list of possible organizations you would like to partner with for data sharing MOUs \n·        Investigate ideas and current uses for data driven tier 2 supports

The Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR)\, the California Labor Workforce Development Agency (LDWA)\, and the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz)-which together form the CERF Leadership Team—is facilitating the development of the CERF. Geographic Boundaries have been determined\, consisting of 13 regions in California which will receive planning grants ($5 million per region) and implementation funds through a competitive process.   A Collaborative\, Inclusive Process: The North State Planning and Development Collective (NSPDC) at California State University\, Chico\,  is proposing to serve as a Convener for the North State’s 10-County region\, which consists of Butte\, Glenn\, Lassen\, Modoc\, Plumas\, Shasta\,  Sierra\, Siskiyou\,  Tehama and Trinity counties.   As Convener\, the NSPDC is tasked with organizing an inclusive group of regional stakeholders\, submitting the CERF Solicitation for Proposal\, and implementing the planning grant in the region. We look forward to working alongside regional stakeholders to collectively develop a regional planning strategy that complements and supports the important work already being done in the North State.   We are currently conducting outreach to identify additional groups or individuals who would like to be engaged in the discussion.  Please let us know if you are interested:  Email Courtney Farrell\, Project Manager\, North State Planning and Development Collective at cafarrell@csuchico.edu for more information about the CERF process or Alice Patterson\, Communications & Outreach Manager at ampatterson@csuchico.edu to be added to our email distribution list. Please watch for additional information coming soon!
